Well I made it to JFK!! First flight of many, many flights is out of the way. I was so lucky to have the whole row to myself on the flight so I could spread out. My hotel is much better than the last time I stayed in Queens…no bars on the check in window was a good first sign.
Tomorrow is the big day!!! I really never thought that this day would come. It seems like this is something I’ve been talking about for my whole life. Since the day I touched ground in the US after my first time in South Africa, I knew that I needed to go back and for as much time as possible. And now, that time has come!! I want to really quickly thank my amazing family for encouraging me to chase my dreams no matter the obstacles, financing those crazy dreams, and for instilling a spirit to explore the world in me that I will be eternally grateful for. I also want to thank my incredible friends for being there for me through the ups and downs. I really couldn’t do this without any of them. Two years of planning has finally come to life.
Stay tuned for my first post from across the Atlantic! I promise the posts after this one will have at least one picture.
There is one post that precedes this one I just hadn’t figured out how to connect it to Facebook yet. Give it a read if you are interested.
